I had high expectations of this one after seeing Kay Sibiya on the cover of this movie especially after his stellar performance in the series The Queen. Though not what I expected I liked this production because I didn’t have to read subtitles as I often have to with most S.A. productions. It is only one season of 13 episodes. Though the pace is fast the flow is a little disjointed and up till episode 5 I was just going with the flow, nothing really kept me excited. However as the pieces come together and secrets are revealed, then you get hooked.
It kinda felt like a marathon, start slowly and bolt on the last mile. I suppose it would be nice to watch on a slow weekend.

The Story
Synopsis: Two Agents are in competition with each other. The web of secrets, incidents, and betrayals that connect them and those around them is slowly revealed.
In Agent the story is good but I think it could have been better told. The script kind of drags in the beginning and is disjointed making it difficult to follow. Maybe the structure and architecture of the whole thing could have been revisited to build a more coherent story. However, eventually, everything makes sense.
There are really no turning points with this script. The story is simply a reveal of what happened in the past and the friends owning up to past mistakes that are eating them up in all manner. Themes covered include drugs, mental illness, trust, and responsibility.
Actors
The casting is good. The actors do a good job of an otherwise not so well structured script.

Technical Construction
The cinematographer and editor do a great ob with Blaze’s nightmares and memories as well as Lesego’s addiction, However, sometimes camera angles are made in unique positions making you expect something yet there is really nothing being communicated. An example is the low camera angle in Blaze’s car as he drives 5:06 if anything it distracts from the story.
My favorite actors in this were Sisanda Henna, Yannick Konan, and Pamela Nomvete I think they were exceptional in communicating the roles of their characters. Kay was also quite good though I think he could have communicated his frustrations with his father better.
Conclusion
The Director could have done better in bringing the different aspects of the movie together. Sometimes I am confused about whether the Actors did much better than the script or vice versa.
