Vanessa Akinyi – Cartoon Comedian Actress

Vanessa Akinyi is a Kenyan Comedian, Actress, and musician whose talent entertained millions during the pandemic. Her jokes centre around women’s empowerment and creating awareness of self-development. Born in Kayole, Nairobi, Kenya, she is a credible voice as she has hustled her way from the slum to become a national icon with over a million followers.

She is the last of three siblings and has a one-step sibling. Vanessa attended different schools in Nairobi and did not finish her formal education due to a lack of school fees. She then went into business selling fish; however, this did not last, so she got a job making brown packaging bags. Her workmates recognised her talent and encouraged her to go for auditons at Churchhill show a standup comedy talent show. Her journey was not easy as she went for auditions for almost two years before getting an opportunity.

After this followed a series of appearances until a skit with her buddy broke the internet with the phrase “inanistress” She mainly uses her social media to promote her work.
