Potatoe Potahto

A reasonably funny comedy though since Joselyn does not do funny so well I struggled to totally appreciate the funny bits of this production if any.
The storyline is interesting however the movie is poorly executed.
If you look for something to pass the time this is definitely it. However whether or not you watch it you definitely do not miss out on anything.  Potato Potahto is available on Netflix and Showmax

The Story

Because they are always in competition with each other, instead of going their separate ways a divorced couple will not let each other have their marital home and are forced to live together after their divorce. The storyline is Ok and the script good.
This results in a series of unfortunate events that play out comically as both parties will not heed the advice of family and friends.

The Cast

Both OC Joselyn do their best with their characters but the casting director just did not pick 2 people who look good together or whose chemistry would bring out the comic nature of this movie.  does a great job and Chris Attoh just came out super wrong.  The only character I felt totally felt right was Joke Silva. She related best with both characters and fitted perfectly with the role of mother in law.
Adjetey Anang – Ato

Blossom Chukwujekwu – Fred
Chris Attoh – Gabby
Joke Silva – Mrs. Wilson
Joselyn Dumas – Lulu
Kemi Lala Akindoju – Frances
Nikki Samonas – Mirian
O.C. Ukeje – Tony
Victoria Micheals – Clarrisa

Technical Construction

The camera and lighting OK. The choice of venues was good and continuity was OK but that is about it. Not much came together. The music was just all over the place, almost noisy and just too much.

Conclusion

Poorly executed but you will enjoy some bits because the script is not really bad. I just did not feel this production. So much could have been done to get this right but I suppose bundling some of the best actors in the industry made someone assume they had done their job.

Rating

I give it a 4/10 for effort.
